    QMJHL Players to Watch and Red Wings Prospects

    On the latest edition of The Hockey News on the 'Q', Jamie Tozer and Will MacLaren discuss what's been making news in the QMJHL over the past week, including: - The Victoriaville Tigres, thanks to timely scoring and the remarkable work of Nathan Darveau between the pipes, have clawed their way to a tie for first in the Western Conference with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.     QMJHL Goalie Goal, Sabres Prospects and U-17 Rosters

    12 QMJHL Players Selected at 2023 NHL Draft

    It's the season finale episode for The Hockey News On The 'Q' Podcast with Will MacLaren and Jamie Tozer. On this 2023 NHL draft recap episode: - Twelve QMJHL players were selected at the draft. Will and Jamie go round by round to discuss every player chosen. - These 12 players drafted is the lowest ever for the league. It was also the lowest percentage of players selected from the QMJHL in the history of the NHL draft. - Ethan Gauthier was the first QMJHL player off the board at pick No. 37 to the Tampa Bay Lightning. That's the lowest first selection from the 'Q' since 2000. - Are these stats concerning for the QMJHL, or is it just a blip? - The Saint John Sea Dogs held prospect camp this past weekend, which included three American prospects.
