Just Riding Along Show- Episode 141, Matt is Hot and Bothered
This week's episode sounds a little breathy because I (Andrea) tried a sound equalizing filter. It's got some compromises... like making breathing noises louder.
This week, Matt talks Enduro, Andrea was almost eaten by a mountain lion (again?), and Kenny did moto stuff as usual. They're heavy on the new shit and light on listner content, so head over to the JRAshow.com website and fill out the contact form with anything you want them to discuss! -
Just Riding Along Show- Episode 140, SB140
In this week's episode, Matt raced the Salida Enduro and then it's the usual moto and hunting talk.
New Shit:
Kenny drops a bomb about the Delta/Dimension stem recall. Spoiler alert- they're lying when they say that "no injuries have been reported." Oh yeah, and if you came here just for this, it starts at about 22 minutes in. We've been sitting on this a while, and everyone needs to know.

Just Riding Along Show- Episode 138, Throwback
Welcome to a thrownback from 10 years ago! Amazingly enough, the bike parts have changed, but the advice hasn't. The sound on this one is a little echo-y since at the time, we recorded ourselves sitting around a single microphone at a kitchen table. It's still got all the JRA you crave, though.
In this episode, the crew makes a pretty amazing prediction when it comes to fork lockouts followed by paying the Wolftooth tax, advice on 1x10 chainline and gearing selection, Andrea's gravel racing plans, and how Kenny lost a KOM. -
Just Riding Along Show- Episode 137, Kenny Buys Things
In this week's episode, Kenny may have bought a new (to him) motorcycle, and Andrea may not have crashed it yet. Andrea talks brain drugs and goats, and Matt is putting his Epic Evo on a diet.

Entertaining Super Useful Information
This is by far the most honest and useful source of mountain bike (and now e-mountain bike) information available. Unlike most mainstream cycling media, Andrea, Matt
Occasionally funny, frequently boring
This show used to be better, but they’ve been spending more and more time talking about trucks, motorcycles, and hunting, and less and less time talking about bikes. Some of that is fine, but it’s gotten to about 50% of the time (or more) these last couple months. It doesn’t help that they’ve sprinkled in a couple political comments lately. I listen to podcasts like this to escape the political mess so I don’t appreciate them slipping in politics here and there, even in side remarks. You don’t know what you’re talking about so just don’t.
Although less show time is devoted to it, a fair bit of their conversation about bikes is indeed interesting and/or entertaining. However, they like to make definitive remarks on things that really aren’t definitive, and not infrequently they say things that are just plain wrong. I’m a biker of 25+ yrs, former racer, bike mechanic of 7yrs, and currently an engineer and very avid cyclist, so I know a thing or two about bikes. It’s fine that they have different views than me on topics. It’s even welcome! But, they act like anyone who disagrees with them is an idiot. I genuinely wouldn’t mind if this mindset and tone wasn’t so pervasive on the show and didn’t span so many subjective/debatable cycling topics, but unfortunately for me, it is and it does!
As an example, they have strong opinions about chain waxing. I disagree with them. Totally fine, right? But they go on and on about how awful waxing is on a recurring basis. I used to be them and thought waxing was silly, but then I educated myself on the topic, tried it, and now I’m a convert, using it on all my bikes. I’m not saying it’s for everyone, but they act like you’re a moron for waxing. Recently, an expert on waxing from Australia challenged them and their assertions, and they said they would review his research and findings, then address them in a later episode. That was months ago and still no response, so I’m guessing they either ignored him or, worse yet, read his research, couldn’t refute it, and then decided to continue complaining about waxing anyway.
So, the show is fine if you’re desperate for bike content and don’t mind being told repeatedly that you’re stupid for disagreeing with them on clearly subjective topics, but if you’re not desperate then just skip it.
My favorite MTB podcast
