Black Woman Finding Her Community
٣١ مايو
I normally use podcasts for educational information but wanted to try something else. I searched black women and stumbled on to balanced black girl now she’s so lucky and wow. I am a successful black woman mother and physician but that is hard to be at times. People in my community expect me to know all the answers and people in other communities don’t expect me to know anything. This podcast feels like home. Listening to women who are at the top of their game but yet still figuring out life that are Black?! I do not have a rule book and I can not ask a lot of ppl. But here I can be myself I hear my stories my challenges my struggles and I hear solutions advice and community.
Updated Thoughts on the Podcast..

I’ve been listening to this podcast for years, through all its changes, and what I always loved was how it felt like a real conversation I would be having with one of my homegirls about everyday life. But once it shifted towards the entrepreneur/business/startup grind and hustle culture, it started feeling more like every other podcast out there—robotic and less relatable. The same guests, the same topics, just recycled. That’s when it lost its unique charm for me. The most recent solo episode, though, was a breath of fresh air. It felt real, authentic, and honestly, just what the podcast needed. I 100% agreed with her that discussing trauma and struggles shouldn't be the main focus, but swinging all the way to the other side with endless business hustle talk wasn't it either. Not everyone wants to talk about trauma, just as not everyone wants to be an entrepreneur or content creation. What made the podcast special was how it connected with real, everyday life. I really appreciated the transparency on the most recent solo episode, especially when it came sharing a space of realness. I took a break from the podcast for a while with the rebranding, but still enjoy Les’ content so I would peak to see the topics. The most recent episode felt like the original heart of the show, just being real. Hopefully, there can be a nice balance of “LA Les” with the growth of “NYC Les”.
I am listening.

I just heard your solo episode and when I tell you I related so so much. I feel as though many of us are in a place of restructuring because of the many changes our society is going through. I wanted to say that I am listening, you inspire, your words matter, and I can’t wait to see how you decide to continue to grow.
