It's budget time at the Thames Valley District School Board. The school board started the process with an $18-million deficit, it's now down to just over $4 million. It has been reported the school board is looking at potentially closing schools as part of this process. However, the school board says that isn't true.

Youth participation in hockey
Do your kids play hockey? Stats indicate the numbers are on the decline. A Hockey Canada report from two years ago found there was a 22 per cent decrease over a 13 year period while a Canadian Youth Sports Report from last year said soccer was the most popular choice followed by swimming, hockey and then basketball.
