Emphysema(COPD) is the third leading cause of death world wide according to the World Health Organization.

    24. Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month

    Hello Future Nurses!!!
In addition to March being DVT Awareness Month it is also Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Month. So in today’s episode we will be learning about MS.
An estimated 1 million people live with MS in the United States. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, and it affects women three times more than men.
    Sadly, there is no cure.
As nurses our goal is to help our patients live as independently as they can with MS by ensuring they are educated about the disease process, making their home safe, and assessing the need for mental health support.
In this week's episode of The Nursing School Simplified Podcast, you will learn the etiology, signs and symptoms, disease management, nursing considerations, and patient teaching.

Super Helpful

I started listening to this podcast to help my studying techniques. I see the last episode was in February and I’m absolutely hoping more episodes will be coming! I’m about to finish my 3rd semester of nursing and have one more to compete before graduation and between life stresses, and of course the stress of nursing school it is nice to have a podcast that definitely touches on content as well as positivity!

Great podcast

I just started listening to this podcast even though I am not in nursing school anymore. I appreciate her kind tone of voice because that is a great quality to try to emulate. I like nursing podcasts that have a mix of chit chat and science and that can be said about this podcast!
