As a Muslim parent, you are frightened by the rapid pace of change around your child. Whilst your child is influenced by a hypersexualised world and 'LGBTQ+' propaganda, parenting solutions you are often presented with favour soft messages around behaviour management.

This podcast seeks to deal with topics head on. Issues which most Muslim organisations shy away from.

We aim to educate, guide and inspire Muslim parents to make a real change in their children's lives by embracing the Islamic responsibility of raising our children.

Episode 4: I'm Prevented from Speaking about 'LGBTQ+'

Episode 4: I'm Prevented from Speaking about 'LGBTQ+'

I speak to Dr Laila Aithadj, Director of Prevent Watch. This is a very important discussion prompted by so many questions from parents themselves. There’s a feeling we cannot approach our children’s schools because we will be labelled, we cannot have candid conversations with our children about LGBTQ+ identities for fear our children will say the wrong thing. Maybe our children will be taken away, maybe we’ll end up on some list somewhere.

How do we understand and navigate the prevent challenge?

In episode 3 of the Parental Guidance Podcast, I speak to Imam Dawud Walid, author of Futuwwah and Raising Males into Sacred Manhood. We focus on Imam Dawud’s book, which looks at developing an Islamic model of masculinity, through a series of virtues rooted in Islamic behaviour and conduct.

We speak about masculinity far removed from the extremes of radical feminism and the red pill movement.
