E.19 - Drug Addiction, Hope, and Broken Relationships

THE LIFE SERIES: I have been missing in action for a few weeks not because of work reasons, but because of personal. I've been set back with another injury and during a moment of meditation, I began to journal about what the word "hope" actually meant. Outside of the "belief" aspect of it, hope can be a tricky emotion to manage. Sometimes having hope can keep you in a terrible situation for a long, long time.

Recognizing when it's a diminishing return is an essential component of living a healthy life...at least that's what I believe in this moment.

    E.16 - 2022 Career Expo - Police Mentoring Session

COMMUNITY SERIES: On May 10th, 2022, I was invited out to be a police mentor at the 2022 Career Expo in Vaughan, Ontario. I had a sit down with a person who wanted to be a police officer where I helped her develop skills and techniques to not only prepare for her police interview, but to also pass her physical testing. I posted up snippets on social media and I had a large feedback of people who were interested in hearing the entire conversation.

E.14 - 2022 COYO Conference - Developing a Gang Exit Strategy: The Data

COMMUNITY SERIES: On April 19th, 2022, I was a keynote speaker at the 2022 Committee of Youth Officers in the Province of Ontario Conference in Niagara Falls, Canada.

"Gang violence is a billion dollar problem that impacts every major city in the world. With a yearly increase in homicides, violence involving firearms, drug trafficking, and sex trafficking, police services are forced to look at additional initiatives that support long term strategies and enforcement efforts, including developing a gang prevention and exit strategy.

During this lecture, Police Constable Ron Chhinzer will share the lessons learned, best practices, and framework for any police service to develop an integrated and comprehensive gang prevention task force."
