Wonderful and newer episodes are more light hearted older are more serious but still very good. Always more to learn with Ivan and while he is weird sometimes, weird in a good way and funny. Never get tired of listening to Ivan talk about birds and I doubt I ever will!

I’ve been listening for a year now, and I never tire of listening to Ivan talk about birds. I repeat episodes regularly and always learn more things I didn’t catch previously. I saw a Great Blue Heron recently and revisited that episode a couple of times. The recent reports from the field have been excellent. Thank you for keeping it lighthearted, Ivan. I love the silly jokes! So fun to learn about birds with this excellent podcast.

We LOVE this podcast! My 5 year old and I listen to The Science of Birds every night before bed. This is the only podcast he has any interest in and we both are very, very into it. It’s interesting, calm and funny all at once.* True perfection. Now if only there were a Science of Whales, Science of Trees, Science of Amphibians. Truly can’t say enough good things about this podcast. Please never stop making new episodes! *We did both find the start of the Ostrich episode terrifying (the story about the ostrich attack). A warning before stories of violence would be great for those of us listening with kids :)
Good and Bad!

I love the content and the subject matter. But as a scientist, conservationist, and waterfowl hunter, I was quite disappointed to hear negative comments towards ducks unlimited, as well as the concept of waterfowl hunting. The foundation of this show is upon scientific evidence, and glazing over the large volumes of data covering North American bird populations, and the impact of hunting those populations, is a juxtaposition of the message of using scientific data to demonstrate the natural world.

This show is amazing! I checked it out when I first got into birding and it has helped me learn as I’ve learned to spot and identify birds. I am from the same city so I love when he uses examples from home. Thanks for the great content, Ivan!
Learn about birds!

I have been on several Wild Latitudes nature tours, one with Ivan as a guide. It was amazing. I am not a serious birder but appreciate their beauty. Ivan’s podcast is a great way for me to learn more about birds in a fun, easy way. Both from his podcast and from traveling with him it is clear he has a passion for bird knowledge and is a world class expert.
this pains me…

i love birds but this guy is the worst…it’s not what he says, it’s how he says it…his voice is just so phony and his attempt to be funny or playful is horrendous…i really, really wanted to listen, but he makes it impossible…i’m so disappointed…
Wonderful

Very effective science communication channel. Good job! Even as an ornithologist, I’m learning a lot about birds through these episodes. Good job Ivan! You’re my idol! P.S. the music is really catchy!
Just the best :)
