Before "PTI" or "First Take" or any of today's popular sports debate programs on TV, there was The Sports Reporters on ESPN. For nearly 30 years, every Sunday morning, top sportswriters exchanged in passionate, intelligent conversation about the major sports issues and personalities today. Now, anchored by Mitch Albom and Mike Lupica - two of The Sports Reporters longest-standing members - the magic of the show is in podcast form, enabling the hosts to continue their highly popular tradition with the benefit of twice-a-week perspectives. In addition to Albom, of the Detroit Free Press, one of the most decorated sportswriters in history, and Lupica, perhaps the country's most recognized and opinionated sports scribe, a third voice will join each program, ranging from former Sports Reporters panelists like Bob Ryan, Bill Rhoden and Christine Brennan, to new and fresh voices in the industry. Join the best conversation in sports every Monday and Thursday.

Year of the surprises

So far Ive watched the ravens go down and now the chiefs are losing 21-0! Should have a lot to talk about next week boys! And not that direct fan input is needed but have you ever considered answering listener social media entered questions? Thatd be cool. Long live bob ryan, lupica stop interrupting! Id write that even if you didnt...somebody needs to give you the business....

Conflict of Interest?

How about this for the ultimate conflict of interest...hammering the Astros for using technology to cheat and then following that segment with a sponsorship from ExpressVPN which is designed to allow people to use technology to cheat!

Take two

I have always enjoyed the show but Mike Lupica must do penance for his “RBs don’t win championships” montra. He must spend more than the 31 seconds Sports Center gave the NDSU victory over JMU winning their 8th championship in 9 years. That’s 3 head coaches, 4 starting QBs and the most consistent program since Dan Gables 10 Iowa wrestling championships in a row.
