The Supersonic Bone: Episode 11

In Episode 11 of The Supersonic Bone Ken ’Prime Time’ Katz interviews Lt. General Richard ‘Harpo’ Clark (ret) about the use of the B-1 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. General Clark describes the deployment of the B-1 to Oman and supporting Operation Enduring Freedom while waiting for the order to attack. Once the order was given General Clark discusses how a bomber designed for delivering nuclear weapons at low levels changed to delivering conventional ordnance at a high level. The inherent flexibility and capability of the B-1 design allowed multiple pre-planned targets to be attacked, then loitering to be available to hit dynamic targets on-demand.
