8. - Dave Campbell - Tips on Engagement, Team building, Bias for action, Being Intentional
Welcome back! What a fantastic interview we have this episode with David Campbell.
He's currently the global Senior Director of Quality - Sensor Solutions at TE Connectivity. What makes Dave uncommon is his passion for developing himself and others on his team, his love for family and friends, and his bias for action mindset. You're not going to want to miss his mantra at the end of the podcast.
Three key takeaways that I had from Dave's message:
1) Leadership development doesn't happen in a classroom or a seminar, but rather through habits you intentionally choose every day.
2) Don't rely on others to develop your team, engage with your team, and they will engage back with you thus improving the relationship that you have with those team members as well.
3) Stop listening to others (or your own inner critic) and go and get something done!

Episode 7 Dr. George Palma - Neurologist - On engaging the team at all levels to problem solve
I've got a great interview today with Dr. George Palma, retired neurologist from a large health system in California who tells it like it is. I think you're truly going to enjoy what George has to say today.
Let me tell you a little bit about him first. George has been instrumental in leading a lean enterprise transformation and influencing leaders to change. And you'll hear a little bit about that story during this interview today. George has also got a very unique background. He's a hospital corpsman who served in Vietnam. And, he's a former Senior Director and Healthcare consultant with IBM.

'Top 5' Moments from first 5 episodes of the Uncommon Leader Podcast!
This first month of episodes has been quite a compilation of great leader interviews. I'm sending on this "Top 5" episode as a mashup of some of the uncommon responses that I got from the interviewees. Let's hear just a few snippets of what you heard in these podcasts from these great leaders:
In the inaugural episode we heard from Dr. Paul DeChant, blogger, consultant and author of Preventing Physician Burnout. He discussed how leaders need to take responsibility to change themselves before they ask others to change.
In episode two, I talked with Tom Carmazzi, former CEO of Tuthill corporation. He spoke about overcoming the challenge of stuttering when he was young.
And episode three, I spoke with Adam Ward forensic better, and I asked him what keeps people from changing.
In episode four, we were introduced you to Kim ‘Doc’ Chaney. He talked about some of the challenges that he faces when mentoring others.
And episode five did not disappoint. As I spoke with aspiring author, Patty Hamilton. She talked about the impact her mother had on her still today.

4. Uncommon Leader Podcast Kim Chaney - Ego & Responsibility, Coaching v Consulting, Teaching Moments
Hey leaders. Welcome back to the Uncommon leader podcast. Your guest for today's episode is Kim Chaney. If you read his LinkedIn profile, it talks about being an experienced teacher with a demonstrated history of working in the management consulting industry.
Kim Chaney is a friend of mine, someone I've worked with for over 15 years and someone who's grown into an uncommon leader. Some of the things that I'm most proud of Kim right now is his faith journey walk and being a proud grandpa to his grandchildren.
I think you're going to love the stories that he shares, including how he got his nickname - 'Doc' Chaney - , differences in consulting and coaching, knowing your chickens, and how to understand that you can't miss opportunities to teach!
Podcast with Dave Campbell
What a great conversation. Dave hits it on the head…personal growth, small sacrifices to grow yourself and how to bring that to your team. I love the idea of the “team book club”. Great Podcast John Gallagher.
