Did you know that VIN Foundation has FREE student debt resources for ALL veterinarians?!

Did you know that VIN Foundation has FREE student debt resources for ALL veterinarians?!

If you have student loan debt or are still in vet school, tune in to today's minisode! Dr. Rebecca Mears generously shared some amazingly helpful information with me recently, and I knew I had to share it with you all. VIN Foundation has a plethora of great information available to veterinary professionals for ZERO dollars :)
    ...

Personalized help with student loans and repayment for veterinarians and vet students is completely FREE through VIN Foundation! This is done through an anonymous post on the student debt area of the VIN message boards. If someone is not a VIN member, they can create a free VIN Foundation login, which gives access to a small section of the message boards.  Posting anonymously allows for a thorough discussion without identifying information being shared and others can learn alongside at the same time.  If someone still has questions after a discussion on the message boards, additional help may be available through a phone/Zoom consultation, but it is suggested that a donation be made to VIN Foundation to help offset the time that goes into that session.
If you aren't a VIN member and would like to set up a VIN Foundation login do so here.  (This link can be used for veterinarians, vet students or pre-vet applicants!)
If someone is looking for student loan help and isn't sure how to get started this page is really helpful. Filling out this Debt & Income Signalment provides the details needed to discuss a borrower's situation.
There's also a special pre-vet area on the VIN Foundation Center. For those looking to learn more about life as a veterinarian, applying to vet school, or vet school student debt, they are encouraged to use the Cost of Education map on VetSchoolBound.org and the Apply Smarter message board.

Finding Your Path In Veterinary Medicine by Staying True to You with Dr. Eve Harrison

Finding Your Path In Veterinary Medicine by Staying True to You with Dr. Eve Harrison

In sharing her path from burned out surgical resident to thriving house call concierge vet, Dr. Eve Harrison highlights a fundamental truth - veterinary medicine can truly be whatever you make of it. We talk a lot about the logistics of screening clients as she describes the strict boundaries around her practice culture, but in doing so, we are given an opportunity to see the real life effects of being in the driver seat of your own life and career. There's much to glean from this conversation, even if you aren't a mobile veterinarian. And for my equine colleagues, listen up  - we can definitely stand to take away a few pointers from this chat!
    ...
    About Dr. Eve Harrison

Dr. Eve Harrison is a seasoned, full-time concierge house call veterinarian in Los Angeles. She is one of only a tiny handful of pioneers practicing true veterinary concierge medicine. Her mobile practice has been through numerous seasons and iterations of itself, including being an acupuncture-only practice, a multi-doctor practice with an IHE-exclusive component, wellness only, and finally a solo integrative concierge practice.
Her passions are creative entrepreneurship, sustainability for veterinarians, boundaries, authentic communication and releasing people who are not a good match for our practices.
She is the founder of the online CE course: The House Call Vet Academy and offers coaching and consulting to help veterinarians nourish not only their patients, but themselves… by helping them cultivate profitable & sustainable mobile practices of their own.
Outside of being a vet, Eve is a semi-professional musician (flutist), & a yoga teacher.

The whole vet covers the whole person on many levels

I love this podcast. Binge listened to all of the episodes while driving between farm calls. She has such interesting guests on and the conversations are great. Really looking to cover the whole human side along with being a veterinarian. Calf vet here and so many of these episodes hit the nail perfectly. I look forward to hearing the next episodes and I now share this podcast with any individual in the vet med world to guide and help them. Keep the awesome episodes coming!!!

Fantastic topics and host!

I like to think of The Whole Veterinarian as a podcast that addresses vets as “whole” people. We all know that we are more than just our careers, but our daily lives don’t always reflect that. Stacey’s interviews and topic-based episodes help to give us a broader perspective.
