    Infertility - The Uninvited Guest

    Infertility - The Uninvited Guest

In this episode we discuss a topic that is often shared behind closed doors, a topic that lurks in the shadows but affects many families searching for a baby. Our topic today is infertility. Whether it has touched your life or the life of someone close to you, this is a topic we all need to learn about.
I invite you to learn more about how infertility has an impact on physical and emotional health, and how the way society deals with the subject affects the parents experience too. We will look at it from the lense of a fictional couple, a couple that could be one of your friends, neighbors or relatives, someone that could be closer than you think and suffering in silence. Together, we can learn ways to support and uplift families dealing with infertility. Let's help bridge the silence around infertility. I can't wait to see you inside.

    Teacher's Self-Care and Motherhood

    Teacher's Self-Care and Motherhood

Welcome to Season 2 of the Podcast. This episode is very special, because it connects with episode 16,  A Letter to my Younger Self. I will be sharing my story and how after years devoting my entire life to the classroom, I found myself experiencing burnout and mental health struggles during my last teaching year.
I went looking for help and what I found was radically different from what I hoped to find. Overtime, I have reflected on that experience and the tools I used to feel better. Today, I am bringing that reflection to you, in hopes it will help you too. Let's talk about self care and finding balance in life and work. I will share some ideas and thought provoking questions.
If you are a teacher or a professional and thinking about motherhood, I hope hearing about my journey  helps you reflect on the essence of life, and the importance of nurturing ourselves first.
I can't wait to see you inside and tell you more about it.

A Letter to My Younger Teacher Self

A Letter to My Younger Teacher Self

In this episode I invite you to travel back in time with me. What would I say if I could go back 20 years and talk to that young teacher? Would I tell her she had all the time to be a mother? Or perhaps tell her to prioritize her family instead of the work she devoted so much to?
Of course, none of us have a time machine but suspend disbelief for a few minutes and travel with me. My messsage might not change my past but I hope it will help some young teachers contemplating motherhood. And if you are not a teacher, that's ok. You are still welcome on this journey. Pack your bags and let's go.
By the way, this episode of time travel marks the end of Season 1. We will come back with season 2 very soon and hope to enjoy your company again. Thank you for your support and love during our first season.

Supporting and Caring For the Postpartum Family

Supporting and Caring For the Postpartum Family

In this episode we discuss how to best support the postpartum families in our lives. The postpartum period brings with it many changes and adjustments, both physical and emotional, personal and social. Many times, in our excitement to meet the new baby and visit the family, we forget that they have very unique needs. Often we ask about the baby but neglect to ask how mom, dad and the siblings are doing. Let's talk about being mindful of visits and also how to set boundaries if you just had a baby. Together, we can provide the best support for the pospartum families around us, whether as a peer or a professional.
I can't wait to see you inside and get this conversation started.
*(Correction - The birth movie I mention at the end of the episode is called "The Back Up Plan", not The Follow Up Plan)

Parenting With Our Parents... Is It An Impossible Mission?

Parenting With Our Parents... Is It An Impossible Mission?

In this episode I invite you to learn more about relationships and how to navigate communication with our parents when we are becoming parents ourselves. Pregnancy is a period that brings with it many changes, both physical and psychological. The couple also experiences a change in their roles towards society and with each other. Our parents and in-laws might have the greatest intentions in mind when they offer parenting advice but this advice could be challenging at times. We will also talk about setting boundaries and how to give your baby, your family and yourself the best care.
I can't wait to see you inside and tell you more about it.
