Thank you so much for taking on this topic. Rowlings tweets seemed to come from so far off-field, and the condemnation of her so severe, that it all didn’t make sense. Thank you for making such a deep and thorough dive into what makes people go along with ideas that seem righteous but sometimes lead us far astray, and for giving us tools of discernment.

It’s time to undo the damage that has come from reducing debate to 150 characters. Long form podcasts that incorporate many positions on controversial topics are what we need right now. I learned so much about this issue in a way that was very healing for me, having lost a best friendship to this polarized topic. Thanks Free Press and great job Megan as the host. I prefer the host to keep their opinions out of it, unlike what Emily Oster does in Raising Parents (though I still like the concept of that podcast too).
Great Listen

This podcast was such a good listen. I respect J.K. and her views and for not backing down or confirming. I respect her for taking care in how she spoke about others. This was not angry. It was beautiful to hear from both sides in a respectful way. Thank you.
Fantastic deep dive. Waiting on the epilogue!

I really enjoyed hearing from all of the interviewees who were thoughtfully chosen to participate in as someone recovering from a much less extreme but equally harmful Christian sect, I enjoyed the interviewer’s perspective so much and empathize with her struggle to leave and be on the right side of history. I don’t agree with Rowling’s strong take on the matter but I do have more empathy for her after listening. I’d still really love to hear the epilogue even though it’s been over a year since the last episode! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
