Five Best Cities for Vegan Foodies | Maggie Ortileb | Ep 86

Click here for the show notes

Maggie started VegOut in 2016 to show her veg-curious friends the delicious vegan options they could enjoy while dining out. Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, she now resides in Los Angeles (and is perfectly happy never scraping ice off her windshield again). She graduated with a degree in creative advertising from Michigan State University (Go green!) and worked in various industries—including nonprofit, hospitality, staffing, and financial services—before founding VegOut. In her free time, she enjoys traveling (and eating all the vegan food), hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
Now as you can imagine, with her work as a magazine editor, she needs to keep her finger on the vegan pulse so who better share their top five cities for vegan foodies? Maggie has traveled widely throughout the US and the world and as a vegan foodie herself she’s going to let you know all the top hottest spots to check out so you can enjoy your next visit to these places
    In this episode, we discuss

Her top picks for citiesPeople who are doing amazing things in these placesFestivals and events that might coincide with your visit

I am so honored to be sharing a very special vegan travel experience that I just returned from. If you are on our newsletter list or have been catching our Instagram stories, you might be aware already, but I have just returned from South Korea! This might come as a bit of a surprise to you because not only have we never talked to you or our community about Korea as a country that we are especially interested in before whether it is for our own personal travel or for a World Vegan Travel trip but sometimes life sends you down roads you didn’t even know existed!

I don’t want to talk too much about how all this came to pass in this introduction but I do want to tell you that I am not the only one talking about this today because I am joined by three other amazing women:

    In this episode, we discuss

How we all ended up in KoreaWhat were our reactions to this invitationOur opinions on if Korea is vegan friendlyWhat about the tourism industry? What we did while we were there - Seoul, Yeosu, Busan, and  GyeongjuOur vegan (and non-vegan)  travel companionsWhat surprised us about KoreaThe infrastructure and transportationOur favorite mealsOur future Korean plans professionally and personally

Safety Wing: A New Kind of Travel Insurance | Jared Schachter | Ep 84

Click here for the show notes

In today’s episode, we’ll be talking to Jared from Safety Wing. Safety Wing is a very interesting company who are looking to help nomadic people and remote teams to take care of themselves while they are traveling through affordable travel insurance for individuals and teams but also in the future create a social safety net when living overseas for longer periods of time. It’s kind of hard to explain, but I will let Jared do that. All I can say is that when Seb and I are looking to live more remotely, we will be considering Safety Wing.

KimC0la ,

I love this podcast!

I’ve been listening for a few years and am finally getting around to writing a review. I love travel and food (vegan) and I love hearing and learning about both topics. Finding them together in one place has made The World Vegan Travel podcast one of my very few go-to podcasts. I eagerly await the Monday drop and never miss an episode. Thank you, Brighde!

As a long-time listener, I’ve had my eye on World Vegan Travel trips for awhile. This past year, I identified a travel time that worked for me and joined the June 2022 Tuscany trip. It was incredible! Highly recommend both the podcast (for armchair travel) and the trips (for IRL adventure).

Diverse and exciting!

I thoroughly enjoy all episodes of the World Vegan Travel podcast. It is so exciting to learn about new parts of the world that I may have never considered traveling to. My To Travel list gets longer with every weekly episode that drops! I also highly recommend traveling with World Vegan Travel-the standard of the trips is top-notch, the food is abundant and delicious, the experiences are unique and the people - both other travelers and hosts- are wonderful. I plan to travel with World Vegan Travel to all destinations offered!
