This is our eighth episode, brought to you by the Prince Mahidol Award Conference 2023: Setting A New Health Agenda - At The Nexus Of Climate Change, Environment and Biodiversity. The conference will be held on the 24-29 January 2023, Bangkok, Thailand.



In the episode, Jonathan Foster talks to Dr. Saad Uakkas about his views on COP 27, about pushing for change, and what is it that we are pushing against, they talk about involving people on the ground and the link between personal health and global heath and reasons why people find making the is link so difficult. They also discuss the readiness of future health systems to deal with oncoming crises and we talk a little about the future.

Dr. Saad Uakkas, besides being a hard working medical doctor is the North Africa coordinator of the African Youth Initiative for Climate Change, as well as the coordinator of the first ever Children and Youth Pavilion at COP 27. Saad is also the winner of the 2021 Diana Award because of his efforts as a then medical student co-organised medical caravans that provided healthcare services and education to over 25,0000 people in rural communities.
