You’re not alone
I came across your podcast a few months ago when the term functional depression came to my mind. I listen to your episode from December about functional depression and it comforted me and knowing I’m not alone. I feel like I’m new in the journey of mental health. Last September I lost my dad and I feel a lot of pressure to be a really good daughter to my mom since he is no longer with us. At the same time, I am a full-time, homeschool parent and don’t feel my husband understands what I’m going through even though he lost his dad last January. I feel like there is a gender difference and difference in family dynamics of course. He goes to work and comes home to play with our kids. I am teaching the boys and cleaning the house, running errands, etc. When do I have time to take care of myself? I just listen to the episode “I am sick” and feel you. Whether it’s what’s going on personally or in the world, I’m just sick of it all. Sometimes I don’t feel like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. But I feel I need to act like things are all good and smile. If I tell the truth, people get uncomfortable and want to “fix” things. Thank you for having the courage to share your journey.
