EP411: 5 ways to grow your business during the slow summer months

EP411: 5 ways to grow your business during the slow summer months

One of the reasons jewelry business founders feel frustrated during a slow season is that they're focused on a lack of sales instead of shifting their focus to how they can make the most of the slow summer months to grow their businesses.
In Podcast Episode 411, I'll share 5 tips to maximize your slower months for greater impact and efficiency in your business...
Catch up on learning: Revisit courses, join a new program like Momentum or Laying the Foundation, binge your favorite podcasts, and catch up on business books.
Work on those big projects: Develop systems, create your production manual, hire a marketing VA or automate processes to streamline your operations.
Work on your marketing: Optimize your email sequences, switch to a new email service provider or CRM if needed, and design a new lead magnet pdf or quiz
Prepare for the holiday season: Design a new collection, create inventory for the holidays, and map out your plans for in-person shows and special promotions
Take a well-deserved break: Take a staycation, work on your mindset, and recharge your energy to avoid burnout and stay motivated for the busy holiday season.
The best course of action for the slow summer months, or whenever business is slow for you, is to take action with intention. Sitting and stressing is not the best use of your time.
So instead, listen to Episode #411 and catch up on learning, work on important projects, plan your marketing, prepare for the holidays, and take a break. These actions will set you up for success and growth in your business.

Creating a Clear Vision for the Future of Your Jewelry Business
Do you have a clear vision for your business? If not, it's time to shift your focus from just making and selling to strategic planning.
A clear vision improves communication with your audience, motivates your team, and fuels your business's growth.
The first step to creating your vision is to get clear about what you desire from life and business, including your goals, personal aspirations, spirituality, and finances. This transformative process aligns your beliefs, motivates you, and sets you up for success.
In Podcast Episode 410, I'll guide you through an exercise to create a powerful vision for your business…
What are your Business Goals? Consider company culture, support systems, impact on the world, customer base, revenue, and profitability.
What are your Personal Goals? Think about health, relationships, social life, vacations, and lifestyle.
Is Spirituality a Priority? Incorporate mindfulness practices like journaling, meditation, breathwork, and stress management.
How are your Finances? Consider your income, savings, profit margins, and investment opportunities that will help your money grow.
    And much more…
This episode is incredibly eye-opening for identifying where you might be stuck, whether you’ve hit a business plateau, and how to move past it to have the business you’ve always dreamed of.

EP409: The 3 Crucial Steps Every Jewelry Business Owner Needs to Scale

EP409: The 3 Crucial Steps Every Jewelry Business Owner Needs to Scale

One of the biggest mistakes I see a lot of jewelry business owners make, and business owners in general, is not taking the time to plan and document a vision of what they're trying to create.
Without a vision, plan, or roadmap, it’s nearly impossible to get where you’re going and achieve those big goals that lead to success.
Regardless of your business vision, whether it’s scaling to a thriving multiple 7 figure company, growing a 100K per year business, or simply building something that supports you and your family and pays you well, you must apply 3 crucial steps to achieve your vision.
In Podcast Episode 409, I’ll reveal the 3 crucial steps every jewelry business owner needs to scale, including…
💎Why having a vision supported by proper planning is crucial to scaling your jewelry business
💎How deciding what’s important to you helps you grow, scale, and remain profitable
💎Why systems, tools, and automation are necessary to create more efficiency
💎What things to systematize for maximum impact and profitability
💎When and what positions to outsource or hire for to support your vision

EP408: How to Work With a #2 To Scale Your Business

EP408: How to Work With a #2 To Scale Your Business

If you’ve hit a growth plateau in your business, there’s a good chance it’s time to hire your second in command. I’ve seen designers in our Flourish and Thrive community experience these plateaus, which keeps them from moving forward.
They know they “should” be hiring, but they put it off because they’re unsure how to hire a great team member or which activities to let a number two take ownership of.
This is a common stumbling block which is why I’m so excited to have Carla Garro and Sam Wunschell of Lita Seaglass on the Thrive by Design podcast. They generously shared how working as a team has helped the company double in size and revenue.
In Podcast EP#408, we go in-depth about hiring the right team for growth…
Making sure that you know your strengths so that you can hire people who complement you
Hiring a second in command who is the polar opposite of the creative visionary
Keeping an open mind about what you want and how you like to communicate to find the right person for each role
Training your team to self-direct and to feel confident in making decisions without worrying about making mistakes
    And so much more…

EP407: How to Feel Cash Confident in Your Jewelry Business

EP407: How to Feel Cash Confident in Your Jewelry Business

There was a time when I was happy to stick my head in the sand when it came to business finances, P&L statements, and balance sheets.
That didn’t bode well for me as I eventually declared bankruptcy for my first business.
While I wouldn’t wish my experience on anyone, I did learn (the hard way) the importance of looking at and understanding my numbers.
That’s why I’m so excited to have Melissa Houston on the Thrive by Design podcast today. Melissa is one of our Momentum coaches, the founder of She Means Profit, and the author of the new book Cash Confident. She teaches business owners how to ditch all of their money stories to become cash confident and grow a profitable business.
In Podcast EP#407: How to Feel Cash Confident in Your Jewelry Business Melissa shares her 5-Step Financial Framework for a Profitable Business and also…
How our money stories are emotionally charged
Why the fear of money is deeply rooted but also irrational
How to run your business profitably by understanding your financial statements
Why monthly and yearly planning is so important
The smartest way to invest in your business
    And much more!

EP406: 9 Step Process for Hiring an Awesome Team Member

EP406: 9 Step Process for Hiring an Awesome Team Member

In the beginning, when you're building a business on a shoestring, you’re probably doing everything yourself.
But as your business grows, it can get overwhelming to continue doing all the things.
So, how will you know when it’s time to hire?
You’ll experience a profit or growth plateau.
    Your business might start backsliding.
You start to suffer from the side effects of burnout.
I’ve seen this happen typically around the 150k to 200k revenue mark with jewelry designers that have been successful so far. Their collections are selling well, they’re getting good quality website traffic, and they’re crushing it in business.
    But they’re overwhelmed and stressed.
Whether you’re ready to hire a virtual assistant, an operations manager, or someone to help with production or shipping, Podcast EP#406: 9 Step Process for Hiring an Awesome Team Member will give you so much clarity like…
How to define that role and what needs to be delegated
Determining the low-leverage tasks outside of your zone of genius
Understanding what things only you can (and should) be doing
How to write a job description and vet top talent
Onboarding and training your new team member
    And so much more…
