Brotherhood in the Wild: Healing Through Adventures in Nature

What an amazing adventure with Ivan and my cameraman Murphy. We spent 3 days in the wilderness of Alberta shooting this podcast and it was one of my favourite to date. It changed how I see the food that I eat, it deepened my appreciation for my friends and the importance of brotherhood. It also expanded my heart and connection to God's beautiful creation. This quote from Alan Watts fits well with this episode, "Here you see we face a serious ethical problem. Since we do depend on all these other creatures for our life, What is our responsibility towards them? You can't avoid this. You can become a vegetarian if you are squeamish about it. But that's only a gesture. You're still destroying living beings to eat apples, tomatoes, cabbages, lettuce, all those things, cereals. You're still destroying other forms of life. And so the only possible good ethical response to finding ourselves in this situation is not only, of course, the obvious one of putting to good use the energies which we derive from them, but also the immediate respect, shall I say, the grace, the thanksgiving of honouring what we eat by cooking it to perfection." Summary: In a world that often isolates men, where can they turn for real connection and healing? This episode dives into the transformative power of brotherhood, set amidst the wild embrace of nature. From primal traditions like fire-making, hunting, wood chopping, to the cleansing rituals of the banya, men are rediscovering their purpose, vulnerability, and the strength of shared struggles. This adventure is not about competition or distraction - it’s about creating a space to truly be heard, heal, and reconnect with what it means to be a man. Join Ivan as he shares his powerful vision of what it means to reconnect with yourself, others, and the world around you.
