In The Arena is (imho) the best medical podcast out there today. It feels like an NPR podcast with a unique narrative style that keeps the listener engaged and the dialogue between the hosts sounds like they are genuinely enjoying themselves. The topics are broad from clinical to professional and I find myself learning a lot with each episode. Lastly, Shyam Murali has the perfect personality for this. He always seems knowledgeable on the topic but humble enough to ask the questions that all of us listeners are thinking. I listen to every episode as soon as I get the push notification and look forward to the next one.

Amazing work by an amazing surgeon

This is very much worth a listen. Dr. Sarani is an important trauma critical care surgeon from the University of Pennsylvania. He is amazing on the podcast, and it is highly informative. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

You don’t need to get anything fancy, but at least make sure there isn’t any background noise. Hearing phones, doors, and such is rather distracting and unprofessional.
