    TUNA ON TOAST with FRANZ FERDINAND - ALEX KAPRANOS

    In this episode of Tuna on Toast, Stryker interviews Alex Kapranos, lead singer of Franz Ferdinand. The guys start out discussing fatherhood, since Alex’s son recently turned one. They also remember Franz Ferdinand’s first show in LA, which Stryker attended decades ago at the Troubadour. Alex then talks about Franz Ferdinand’s new album ‘The Human Fear,’ which will drop in 2025. Stryker has been playing the song “Audacious” on his radio show, and Alex reveals how it came together – along with an explanation why fear is a good thing. Alex didn’t always feel like he could front a rock band, and he tells Stryker how a random karaoke performance became life-changing. Alex goes further into Franz Ferdinand’s history, discussing his memories of the Grammys, the most terrifying gig he ever played, and how Franz Ferdinand found their indie rock sound at a time when most popular rock music was loud and heavy.     Tuna on Toast w Cage the Elephant

    In this MINI episode of Tuna on Toast, Stryker talks to Matt and Brad Shultz from the band Cage the Elephant. In 2024, Cage the Elephant released their sixth album, Neon Pill, and Matt and Brad give Stryker all the details on how it was made. Neon Pill was especially important for Matt, their lead singer, who suffered through years of psychosis before getting the help he needed. He tells Stryker all about his journey, and how it inspired many of the songs on Neon Pill, including the title track. Another great song from the album is “Rainbow,” and Matt explains to Stryker how he instantly knew it was going to be special. Stryker also asks the guys about the band’s early goals, long before Cage the Elephant had massive hits songs and Grammy Awards. Matt and Brad also share some fond memories of their dad, a major musical influence in their lives, who passed away in 2020. This was a great interview with an awesome band, who will be touring with Oasis next year!
