Two Traumas: NICU & TFMR feat. Erika

The Birth Trauma Mama Podcast

On this week's episode, we welcome Erika to share her story. Erika had a mostly uncomplicated first pregnancy, but her son was taken to the NICU shortly after delivery.  After EMDR, raising her son and getting pregnant again, Erika's 2nd pregnancy resulted in a TFMR at 23 weeks due to fetal anomalies that were incompatible with life. Erika shares how both of her births were traumatic but had different outcomes and healing processes.

On this episode, you will hear:
- Traumatic birth experience due to miscommunication
- NICU stay
- TFMR and navigating the healthcare system
- Saying goodbye and healing after loss
- Comparing experiences and finding support
- Advocacy for abortion care
