Episode 80: Crash Landing of American Airlines Flight 1420 (Part 2)

In this episode of Unexplained Arkansas, your host Lisa discusses the horrible and tragic crash landing of American Airlines Flight 1420--this is Part 2 of a 2 Part episode. On the evening of June 1, 1999, American Airlines pilots Rick Buschmann and Mike Origel are trying to make their last final leg of their day by flying from Dallas/Fort Worth to Little Rock National Airport. Storms that had been building all day in this portion of the country had delayed the pilots on previous flights and time was running out. The pilots were in a rush to get ahead of a storm and to not delay to the point where they would exceed their maximum flight hours per that day and per the regulations in 1999. The fatigue and the rush to get home would turn fatal when the plane would land in Little Rock but it would crash 800 ft beyond the runway killing 11 people from the flight and injuring soo many more. Listen to the whole episode to find out all the details of Flight 1420. 3. Episode 78: The Gowrow An Arkansas Cryptid

    ٢٤ فبراير

Episode 78: The Gowrow An Arkansas Cryptid

In this episode of Unexplained Arkansas, your host Lisa and special guests Elaine and Cody from Cryptids Across The Atlas Podcast as they discuss the Gowrow--an Arkansas Cryptid. According to Vance Randolph; reports of the Gowrow go back to the 1880's. The Daily Arkansas Gazette on January 31, 1897; published a news article written by Elbert Smithee. Elbert outlined a story about a Little Rock businessman who had traveled to the Ozark area of Arkansas, specifically a small town named Blanco in Searcy County. There Miller heard ghastly stories of a green monster that had been killing livestock and even people. Allegedly, in the article it stated that William Miller took a photo of the monster--a drawing of this photo was posted in the newspaper and is the thumbnail for this episode. He then stated that he and the townspeople killed the monster after finding the monster in a cave with human and animal bones. Wiliam Miller, then stated, he had sent the photo and even the bones of the Gowrow to a museum in Washington D.C. but the evidence never arrived there and was lost.... This and more is discussed in length in this episode--listen to whole story.
