The Superintendent of Milwaukee Public Schools is resigning after more than 100 community members called for him to be fired last night. And, community frustration is bubbling up in La Crosse around the city's response to a large number of unsheltered people.

The Republican National Convention in Milwaukee is expected to go on as planned. That's despite former President Donald Trump facing sentencing days before the event. The NCAA and its Power Five conferences agreed to an antitrust settlement that would allow colleges to pay student athletes directly. But the details on how that will work are still unclear. And, construction workers at a middle school discovered a time capsule from 1961 in the building's cornerstone. Rob Mentzer will have more from Wausau.

Wisconsin's new state voting maps have shaken up state legislative races. Nearly half of all lawmakers have announced they won't run in their old districts, and many will leave the Legislature entirely. The family of a man who was killed by Appleton police is suing the city and the police officer who shot him. And, Wisconsin's Department of Public Instruction is threatening to withhold funding from Milwaukee Public Schools unless the district completes a corrective action plan.

Democratic Congresswoman Gwen Moore called for "corrective action" in Milwaukee Public School finances. Environmental groups and residents in Beloit want state regulators to install an air monitor in the city to measure harmful soot pollution. And, state law requires Wisconsin youth to go through training before they can drive a tractor, but some argue its allowing kids to operate farm equipment before they're ready.

A Circuit Court judge heard arguments in a lawsuit that seeks to restore labor rights for Wisconsin's public sector workers. Conservative critics of Assembly Speaker Robin Vos are again trying to knock the Republican leader out of office. Shawn Johnson will have more on their efforts to force a recall election. And, around the Apostle Islands on Lake Superior, boaters will soon be able to get real-time safety data from solar-powered buoys.

The Republican National Committee is pushing the U.S. Secret Service to move the security perimeter ahead of the RNC this July. A 92-year-old woman received her high school equivalency diploma at Madison College more than 70 years after leaving school. And, during elections Wisconsin poll workers can be affiliated with a political party. Both Republicans and Democrats are ramping up efforts to enlist their members.
