Avis competed professionally on the LPGA circuit, winning dozens of titles as well as being the only African American woman to win both the Junior World Golf Championship and the San Diego Women’s City Amateur Championship. On top of that Avis has appeared on TV's Holey Moley, raised a new generation of golfers and successfully battled cancer.
