Great content. More time to contemplate.
Each week, I find great content and interesting insights that are new or challenging. Yet when the posting of this podcast is mid-week, it doesn’t give much time to contemplate or incorporate new ideas into sermon preparation. I would like mull these gems over a while and late posting prohibits that.
I notice the Podcast in the RCL is frequently dropped days before this one. I’d like to see this one drop sooner.
Content = GREAT.
Timing = COULD BE BETTER.
Great Conversations - Exegetical & Homiletical
The converation held by these three professors around the each selected text is a wonderful model for preaching in and of itself. As they talk about these passages they are careful to let the Gospel inform our life today, rather than allowing us to determine what the Gospel should have said. They also do a wonderful job of bridging the 2000 to 5000 years between us and the Gospels, Letters and Hebrew Scriptures. The details of life may change decade to decade, but the sacred and profane themes that shape us are still the same. They really help me find those connections, and share them with the congregation. It is a must listen.
