A feminist/comedy podcast where we rewatch movies we used to love and discuss how, in a post #metoo society, these movies are problematic. Join your cohosts, Courtney Groce and Nicole Farmer, as we examine movies through an intersectional feminist lens and take a deep look at the way these films problematically portray gender, race, sexuality, ableism, and class. Spoiler alert! We talk about the entire movie, but it’s okay! You don’t need to watch it if you haven’t already. We’ll walk you through it. Come hang out with us every other Tuesday as we discuss . . . and ruin . . . every movie you’ve ever loved.

E10: Wow, Carrie is Problematic
CONTENT WARNING: Discussion of abuse, mass murder.
*Special note: we recorded this episode before the horrific and senseless shooting in Uvalde, Texas. While we don’t talk about shootings in this episode, the story does involve a climactic scene where students are killed in a school. We are heartbroken that so many innocent baby's lives were taken and we hope that change will happen so that these shootings end. We must insist on MANDATORY UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECKS & AN ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN.
In episode 10, we’re getting into some good old fashioned horror. Stephen King’s classic Carrie has always been one of our faves, but is it still? Directed by Brian de Palma of Scarface fame and starring Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie, Amy Irving, Nancy Allen, John Travolta. From religious mothers to pig's blood, this flick has all the problematic things and we’re gonna talk 'em! So as Billy would say, “keep your t*ts on!” It’s gonna be a wild ride y’all!

E8: Wow, When Harry Met Sally is Problematic
Can two friends sleep together and still love each other in the morning? We’re gonna find out in this weeks episode of When Harry met Sally! Starring Meg Ryan, Billy Crystal, Carrie Fisher, and Bruno Kirby. Directed by Rob Reiner, written by Nora Ephron, with music by Harry Connick Jr. This is a much beloved late 80’s rom-com and actually gets a fairly low rating on our “Problematic Scale”. Still, there are a few reasons why it’s on our list. So grab your best friend, make your most high-maintenance drink order, and get ready for some sex talk. You’re in for a treat!
