Tim Barnes chats with comedian/writer/film critic Jourdain Searles (The New York Times, Vanity Fair, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Sight & Sound Magazine, and more) about growing up in Georgia, falling in love with cinema, and melding the skills she’s gained from comedy and criticism.

Jourdain Searles is a writer, critic, film programmer and comedian. After leaving her hometown of Augusta, GA in 2014, Jourdain pursued an MFA in Dramatic Writing at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Upon completing her degree in 2016, she put down roots in New York City and currently resides in Brooklyn. Her work focuses on film, comedy, feminism and critical analysis.
