The sociology of tech podcast I’ve been seeking
Feb 10
Every few months I fumble around for podcasts that discuss the current state and future potential of AI and the measured and expected impact on human lives. I don’t know how I missed this one for so long. I’ve been listening to back episodes for a week, and I’m recommending this podcast to everyone. I started out listening for the discussion of AI development and the necessity of investing in safety mechanisms, As I rolled further back through episodes, the discussion of social media and its impact was fascinating and personally relevant. The guest host episodes add variety, and the guests in general come from so many places and fields, that I learn quite a bit from each episode. The story told here isn’t entirely optimistic, but I’m relieved to hear big minds chewing through the hard questions, and I appreciate the opportunity to listen to and consider their ideas.
“Snappy Good Show”
Mar 11
Well, I’ve come to the end of my rope. I love to learn about the cutting edge thought and developments of an AI influenced future and where we are going in the future with all the developments we are seeing. The content is good… BUT… I have had it with the “finger snap transition”in this show. I am not an animal or a child and the finger snap has gotten condescending and rude and a poor choice for whomever was responsible. What are their listeners? Butlers? Waiters? Why do the hosts have to resort to finger snaps as if I’m not already listening to this show? Maybe it’s their Stanford Design class instincts to put a snap in the show to keep people listening? Their Red Notification Dot in audio format? I can’t believe I have to say this, but here we are. I’m done with this show.
Great listen. More laughtavists pls!
