TW: addiction, overdose, and body dysmorphia When conceptualizing The Squeeze, your hosts knew it was going to be people like Zac who make it special. Today, they are joined by dream guest Zac Clark, founder and CEO of Release Recovery, a full-service substance use disorder and mental health organization that offers transitional living, interventions, case management, and other essential family and recovery support services. This episode is very personal, as Zac shares his history with addiction, rehab, and recovery, and Tay shares more about her family’s experience with addiction. Zac discusses his time in the hospital after being diagnosed with a brain tumor, and how that inevitably furthered his addiction. The three discuss the importance of boundaries, advocating for men’s mental health, and Narcan. Zac also touches on the incredible work Release Recovery and the Release Recovery Foundation are doing to offer support to those struggling and break the stigma around addiction and mental health. This episode is dedicated to Chris and anyone out there suffering from addiction, or loving someone suffering from addiction. Help is out there.
