Nehemiah 2, part 2 - Nehemiah | Build up, in and out

Anthony brings us the latest message in our new sermon series on Nehemiah.
He says: "Do you recall the familiar slogan for WorkSafe? "Spot the Hazard, Assess the Risk, & Make the Changes." While it may have seemed a bit cliché, it was actually a straightforward & applicable approach to handling work-related incidents. Interestingly, we can draw a parallel to our spiritual lives. Spot the Hazard, Assess the Risk, & Make the Changes. The challenge is that we often struggle to be honest when it comes to identifying the hazards in our lives, & then tend to underestimate the risk. And if we do recognize the hazard, we often resist making changes. This Sunday we explore how Nehemiah handles this spiritual WORKSAFE scenario."

Nehemiah 2, part 1 - Nehemiah | Build up, in and out

Nehemiah 2, part 1 - Nehemiah | Build up, in and out

Anthony brings us the second message in our new sermon series on Nehemiah. He says: "Imagine stepping out in faith and following God's lead, only to be met with resistance & opposition. Yet, this is exactly what Nehemiah faced when he decided to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. But Nehemiah didn't let the enemies of Israel deter him from his mission. Instead, he prayed, trusted God, & persevered. As we seek to Build Up, Build In, & Build Out, we'll undoubtedly face similar challenges. But what if we could overcome them with the same courage & faith that Nehemiah did? Join us as we explore the story of Nehemiah & discover how we can build our faith in the face of opposition."

Nehemiah 1 - Nehemiah | Build up, in and out

Nehemiah 1 - Nehemiah | Build up, in and out

Anthony brings us the message. He says: "Over the next eight weeks, we will be exploring the Book of Nehemiah. Nehemiah's project was about building walls, but it's also about building a community. It's about building up, building in, and building out:
    - Building up means strengthening our individual relationship with God. It's about prayer, study, and surrender. It's about being rooted in God's Word and being empowered by His Spirit.
    - Building in means building relationships with others. It's about community, fellowship, and serving together. It's about creating a sense of belonging and being part of something bigger than ourselves.
    - Building out means taking what we've built inside and outside. It's about shining our light in the world, sharing our faith with others, and making a difference in our community. It's about being a witness to the hope and love of Jesus.

As we explore the Book of Nehemiah, I want to encourage you to ask yourself: What does it mean to build up my relationship with God? What does it mean to build in with others? And what does it mean to build out in my community? Let's discover how Nehemiah and his team prayed, gave, and owned their project to glorify God. And let's see how we can apply these same principles to our own lives and ministries, becoming a beacon of hope in our city."

    In Christ

    In Christ

Jason follows up our recent baptisms with a message to suit. He says: "Baptised! What now? Where do we go from here? No matter if you were baptised last Sunday, 6 months, 1 year, or 20 years ago, we continue as we began, with our eyes set on Jesus. Knowing in Him we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavens - chosen, predestined, adopted, redeemed, and lavished in God’s glorious grace! Perhaps the greatest challenge for us is that this can remain head knowledge and not heart knowledge. How then do we apply and live out this wonderful truth?"

    Facing Crossroads

    Facing Crossroads

Anthony brings us the message about facing crossroads.
He says: "Have you ever been in a foreign city or town following directions on your phone or an old-school tourist map, and you come to a crossroads? It's not clearly on your map, and google maps starts freaking out, and now you have to make a decision - which way do I go? Life is full of crossroads; most crossroads we don't even have to think about, like whether we should watch Netflix or do something productive like fold the washing, read a book or mow the lawn; of course, we watch Netflix. However, many crossroads we face in life are a little more serious and can have a more significant impact on our lives. Making big decisions can be daunting. You might feel overwhelmed by your choices, worry about taking the wrong path, and possibly even freeze when faced with these crossroads. Sunday, we will look at some great practical advice from the Bible when facing these crossroads."
