    This month marks year 15 of my coaching business, and I want to celebrate it not by talking about what I've done but what's normal. Most of us who are coaches really like and want to do this work. We want to be coaching! One thing that really gets in the way of that is seeing so much puffed-up business metric marketing and other BS that makes you feel bad about why you're doing this and what you want. Those things are beautiful, relevant, and exactly right FOR YOU. Don't let other people's goals and metrics (especially for selling you something) become your goal.     178: Opt-ins, Freebies, and Lists, Oh My!

    "You don't own the socials. You serve at the pleasure of the platforms, and they could take it all away tomorrow, without any explanation, if they wanted to." Having an opt-in or a freebie AND a newsletter list is essential. When you encounter people (online or in person), you want to be able to say, "I've thought about you, and I've created something that makes your life easier. Here it is." This is one way we stay top of mind and people can find or refer you when they want/need to. Create the thing that helps your people and keep sharing it! *The only person who's going to be excited about your business (especially in the beginning) is you. Want to do this together?
