Pick the best exercises for your home arm workout. As we age, the muscles in our arms start to atrophy along with our fascia. Fascia holds the shape of the arm and is vital for the whole body. Fascia maintains the body’s shape, keeps your muscles in place, and shares some of the force on your body when you exercise. When you stimulate the fascia, you cause collagen synthesis, which is essential as you age. The arm exercises I’m going to show you focus on strengthening the primary and secondary muscles, associated supporting muscles, and the fascia. This arm workout is safe on the joints, produces significant strength, and can reshape the arms for slim, toned arms. Most of the exercises I’m going to show you today are isometric exercises. This type of exercise increases tension in the muscle without lengthening or shortening it. Contracting your muscle is referred to as a concentric movement, while the extension is an eccentric movement. You’ll need a resistance band or isometric band for these arm exercises. Some will be done using a TRX, which works great for an arm workout. Gymnastic rings can also work but are not necessary. If you don’t have any equipment, don’t worry! Most people find that their metabolism slows down in their 20s and 30s after a series of calorie-restrictive diets. Lowering calories increases hunger and cravings, which will require immense willpower and can stifle weight loss. The caloric deficit model is not sustainable! Insulin is the hormone that controls whether you burn or store fat. If you reduce insulin, you can tap into your body fat for energy. Carbohydrates have the most significant effect on insulin, while fat is neutral and protein has a moderate impact. All calories are not the same! To lose weight, you must lower insulin, which means you must reduce your carb intake. If you’re on a low-carb diet, your body can use both food and body fat for fuel. This eliminates hunger and cravings between meals. Fat provides more than double the energy of glucose. It takes 2 to 3 days to get into ketosis and 2 to 3 weeks for fat adaptation. Fat adaptation means your body is burning the most fat possible. Your body can burn ketones and fat, which are two different fuel sources. To get your body into ketosis, carbohydrates should make up about 5% of your diet, protein 20%, and fat 75%. Visceral fat in the abdomen may prevent a flat belly, but you can eliminate it with this diet. The dead bug exercise stimulates the fascia and muscles that can act as a girdle, giving you a flat belly fast!     Inflammation is an immune reaction! Chronic inflammation over time can lead to serious health problems like cancer, which tends to invade areas of inflammation. Fibromyalgia involves inflammation that spreads throughout the entire body. Many people with fibromyalgia have it on the right side of the body and also have pain underneath the right rib cage. Fibromyalgia all over the body is usually caused by a virus that has come out of remission. Viruses such as the Epstein-Barr virus, shingles, and herpes come out of remission when your immune system is weak. It’s a potent neurotoxin, damages reproductive organs, and is classified as a Class A carcinogen by the EPA. You won’t find this dangerous ingredient on a food label because it’s a byproduct, not an ingredient used to make the food. Acrylamide is created when you combine a specific protein with refined sugar such as glucose, dextrose, glucose syrup, or maltodextrin under high heat. Saturated fats prevent the formation of acrylamide. If junk foods were made with saturated fat like tallow, this could significantly reduce cancer risk. Here are some foods to avoid that contain acrylamide: •Corn chips •Potato chips •French fries •Baked goods •Crackers •Cookies •Cereal •Bread crust •Roasted coffee To avoid acrylamide, cook with tallow, coconut oil, or butter, and use natural sugar like honey or sugar cane. Slow cooking reduces the formation of acrylamide. Focus on consuming whole foods and avoid refined and processed foods. If you eat junk food, pair it with something to counter the effects of acrylamide. Cruciferous vegetables contain protective compounds that protect against acrylamide. Garlic, sprouts, sauerkraut, citrus, bell peppers, green tea, and spirulina also have protective effects. Organic dark-roasted or espresso coffee is heated to 400 degrees, destabilizing acrylamide. Light-roasted coffee has 10 times more acrylamide than dark-roasted coffee. When the amino acid asparagine combines with refined sugar and is heated over 285 degrees Fahrenheit, a Maillard reaction produces the byproduct acrylamide. Acrylamide creates another byproduct called glycinamide, which is more deadly than acrylamide! Cancer is the second leading cause of death, and acrylamide may dramatically increase cancer risk.
