Outlouders, in case you missed it... Holly has a brand new podcast!
Introducing Mamamia's brand new podcast called MID, the grown-up conversations women deserve.
This season brings you compelling conversations full of fun, frank wisdom from an impressive line up of well loved names, in the second act of life who share it all.
MID goes deep on self-care with zero shame and rich experiences you can cherry-pick for wisdom to share, changes to make and attitude we can borrow.
This episode Holly speaks to Julie Goodwin who has had an extraordinary ordinary life. And in the last few years, she has had an extraordinary ordinary wrestle with her mental health.
While you were buying Julie's cookbooks, watching her two stints on Masterchef and listening to her on the radio, she was taking care of everyone but herself (sound familiar?) and some issues she thought she'd successfully shoved in a low drawer spilled out and began to take over.
In this first conversation for Mid, host Holly Wainwright talks to Julie about the winding road back from a "breakdown" and what happens when you stop doing everything for everyone all at once.
If this episode brings up anything for you Lifeline is always there on 13 11 14.

Bridgerton, A Debrief
Lady Whistledown is back and ready to put quill to paper with all the juicy town gossip. That’s because there is a brand new season of Bridgerton and Holly and Mia have some feelings they need to get off their chest.
In this episode, we cordially invited Mamamia's Head of Entertainment and host of The Spill podcast, Laura Brodnik, to unpack the worlds obsession with period shows. We discuss why we're happy to put feelings aside to watch a love story from such an oppressive time in history, why shows like Bridgerton are so successful and ask the question... is there enough sex?

Love the show!
All of the hosts bring great, different perspectives to any discussion. When reading something in the news that relates to women, I go to the show to ‘chat’ with these amazing women to hear their analysis of controversial and topical issues. Well done all!
No longer able to support this show
Someone in the Outloud Group asked people to come here to write positive reviews because of all the “trolls”. I commented on the post, to find my comment deleted literally immediately. Same with the second time. Someone in the admin was clearly working overtime to ensure anyone thinking the same thing was silenced. Well, they can’t do that here so here it is. It’s been extremely disappointing that the message from Mamamia Outloud is that the genocide in Gaza is too complex to talk about. On one hand, I think it’s responsible because clearly if opinions were shared then the outrage and impact would be enormous. But silence speaks volumes. I personally felt extremely outraged to read Mia’s babble a little while ago that ended in “read a history book”. I have read many. And I have sought out the Zionist perspective through podcasts and somehow still continue to be amazed with the cult like conditioning that seems them unable to register any outside Israeli provided information. I’m so disappointed and have been a longtime listener, but I also have a fascination with understanding someone who I’d previously viewed as an educated, critical thinker and who seems to be unable to apply that mentality in this situation. One of the reviews said you can hear Mia’s eyes roll at the mention of the topic and I’m sorry, but that really resonated. The very few times they’ve touched on the issue you can almost hear Holly and Jesse wanting to say more, but can’t or won’t. The conflict (aka genocide!) is only made to appear complex by those who don’t want you to understand it. It doesn’t take very long to dig a bit deeper and see very clearly when it started, by whom and that we are watching a genocide play out on the screens of our phones. I know for one that I want my nieces and nephews to know that I screamed as loud as I could when they ask me how could anyone have let this happen. I’ve been holding to do this hoping things would turn, but my time is done, I’ll be unsubscribing.
Long time listener
I love this podcast! I listen to every episode and enjoy hearing their different opinions (sometimes to my own and often with each other) about topics serious and playful. Love you guys!
