"It really changed our vision of life, just imagine you are travelling in your house on wheels, you can choose your daily view everyday, you get to be close to nature, you wake up with the sun. Van life is about freedom... after you take a bite of it you cannot stop"

Meet Mele and Max from Elliot Jones The Van.

Mele & Max are from France and arrived in Australia two years ago to start their van life adventure. They self-built their van in the Bunnings carpark (until they got kicked out).... seriously, they were working on the van during the day then piling everything inside and sleeping in the Bunnings carpark at night. That is DEDICATION.

They are total gems and absolute sweet-hearts and we can't wait for you to hear their story.

    In the podcast:
    A bit about their story
Where is the best place you have travelled to in the van so far in Australia?
Do you have a plan of where you are going?
Best bit of Australian language you have picked up? Anything weird?
What is it like living in such a small space and being together all the time?
How much did you spend on the van and renovations?
How are you making an income on the road?
Best person you have met on the road so far? Why?
What is your advice to anyone thinking about converting to van life or thinking about this kind of lifestyle?

"Money is replaceable you can make it back, but time and experiences you've got to gobble those up and take them when you can. Living the simpler life for us has given us a happier life, we are fulfilled - we have everything we need"

Meet Karstan, Max and their 11 month old baby girl Zuri

You may recognise this couple as Karstan and Max were previously on the TV show The Block.

They have a zest for life and are an adventure seeking family currently travelling in a kombi in outback Queensland, Australia.

They bought their first Kombi in 2009, did a lap around Australia and were absolutely hooked.

True to their word that becoming parents wouldn't change a thing, they are still on the road living their best lives.

They are total sweet-hearts, fam goals and I know you will fall in love with their story.

    In the podcast:
    Karstan & Maxine's story
How old is your bub/ when did you first start taking her on trips and what is it like travelling with a baby?
What essential baby items do you suggest people get if they are thinking about travelling with a baby?
Where do you camp? Do you used paid or free sites?
Where is the best place you have travelled to in the van so far?
What is it like travelling with a dog? Any tips for people thinking about travelling with an animal?
    Hardest thing about van life?
Best person you have met on the road?
Do you think you are now living a happier life when living more simply? Why?
What is your advice to anyone thinking about converting to van life or thinking about this kind of lifestyle?

"We have less stuff, less things to worry about, more time to focus on what really matters, more time with our little one, plus get to experience getting out and just seeing our beautiful bloody country. Australia is amazing and we can't stress enough just how important it is to get outside and see your own country"

The Van Life Series Featuring Irietoaurora /Diversify Vanlife | USA

The Van Life Series Featuring Irietoaurora /Diversify Vanlife | USA

"I am definitely happier living this lifestyle, van life has given us the space and energy to live more intentionally, we've gained the tools and ability to focus on what matters most to us"

Meet Dustin & Noami from Irietoaurora & Diversify.Vanlife

These two are doing some incredible things for the Van Life community and share brilliant content.

Dustin and Noami are digital nomads, eco warriors and have been travelling on the road for nearly five years with their dog.

They were working a 9 to 5 in New Orleans and decided it was time to take off and explore the national parks. They gave themselves six months and here they are five years later.

Noami created Diversify Vanlife in 2019 in response to the lack of representation of black, indigenous, asian, latin, or other people of colours within the nomadic community as well as other marginalised individuals in the road travel community. It has grown into a supportive community and movement of BIPOC, LGBTQIA, disabled and previously unheard voices taking up space and shifting the narrative.

    In the podcast:
Noami & Dustin's Van Life story
Are you are happier living this simpler life?
How much did your van cost and what is your favourite addition to the van?
What is it like living in each other’s pockets and spending 24/7 together?
Tell us a little bit about the Diversify Van Life?
What is the biggest thing you have learnt so far with your experience on the road?

"Sharing this unconventional lifestyle has strengthened out relationship more than I thought possible"

The Van Life Series Featuring Does This Count As Van Life | USA

The Van Life Series Featuring Does This Count As Van Life | USA

"Nothing feels like a chore in the way that it used to, getting up in the morning isn’t so hard because I know that maybe I have work to do but my day is not all about work I am not going to spend the bulk of my day at work away from my dogs and my best friend"

Meet Bree! Bree is 26, non binary from Colorado, USA.

Bree, Guilly and the two doggos Zeus and Apollo have just started living on the road.

Bree graduated college was working in they field, had a cool apartment and a good community of friends but knew that there was something more.

With an apartment lease coming to an end Bree knew they needed to do something big and needed something to change.

Something I am sure most people can relate to is working so much that you are so tired so when you get time off, you are too exhausted to actually do the things you want to do.

"I can definitely say I am happier, I am in love with this new life. The most important things, which we have found rapidly are not really things they are just there. It’s a huge jump, it’s a lifestyle change, its not only that it’s a departure from this norm that we as a collective are conditioned to believe is the way to go, the right way. That change feels big and scary and sometimes you just need one more vote to tell you to do it"

    In the podcast:
    Bree's story
    The why?
How do you make an income on the road?
    What’s the plan?
The cost of van renovations and time
What is it like travelling with your two dogs?
Who is one other person in the van life community who inspires you and that we should follow and check out?
