In The Dark
In the Dark, hosted by Madeleine Baran, is an award-winning investigative-journalism podcast that started in 2016. Its first season looked at the mysterious abduction of Jacob Wetterling in rural Minnesota and the lack of accountability that sheriffs face when they fail to solve cases. Season 2 examined the case of Curtis Flowers, who was tried six times for the same crime. In 2020, In the Dark released a special report on the coronavirus pandemic in the Mississippi Delta. In 2023, In the Dark joined The New Yorker and Condé Nast. “The Runaway Princesses,” a four-part series that asks why the women in Dubai’s royal family keep trying to run away, came out in January. In the Dark is a two-time Peabody Award winner and, in 2019, became the first podcast to win a George Polk Award, one of the top honors in journalism. The program has also received an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award and a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award. Share your thoughts on In The Dark. War Crimes
Sept 30
Love your show, Madeleine. You’re an amazing journalist! Will you cover the genocide in Palestine next? Also, is it possible for the New Yorker to pay for the exhumation and re-interment of Mondu Hamad? This is typically a costly procedure yet very important for the family.
Compassion…
Sept 28
Thru your excellent journalism and writing you have shown great compassion for not only the subject at hand but to all the people you spoke to.
Emotional Ride
Sept 26
Thank you for this. I appreciate how you folks told the story. I can’t imagine the pain and suffering that you collectively went through. Accountability is important especially in places where nobody is looking. I can imagine there are countless other stories in war.
Season 3- Amazing
Sept 24
Until the aliens start attacking us, we call each other names and men & women in uniforms will continue to do horrific things to innocent civilians including children and the armies will continue to protect their own sadly. I don’t think US army and navy are the only ones but they are one of these who called themselves as just and civilized. Let’s wait for the aliens to unite.
