A Month of Healing: Reflections, Connections and Breakthroughs

After a whirlwind of a month, Jessalynn is back with a solo episode, catching us up on the wild few weeks she's had, from her family's recent trip to Disneyland to celebrating Mother's Day. She shares how stepping out of her comfort zone during her daughter's dance competition led to forming unexpected friendships with other parents, despite initially being guarded. Jessalynn also reflects on the emotional challenges of Mother's Day, given her strained relationship with her own mother, but also shares why this particular Mother’s Day was a breakthrough moment this year, feeling more at peace thanks to her healing journey and medication. Through her experiences, she highlights the importance of taking time to heal, not letting fear steal your joy, and embracing new, positive connections.

This will help so many people ♥️

I want to start off by saying thank you for your podcast and sharing your story. I also was raised in chaos and at 43 I am realizing my childhood was not normal and is affecting my relationships and growth as a person. What you said about the friends you choose made so much sense to me as I did the same. I am realizing my mother is narcissistic and as a result of that I have body dysmorphia and disordered eating and used exercise as an escape, but at the same time it became obsessive. As well as what you said about people assuming we are raised with a silver spoon or spoiled. That hit home for me. I finally had a therapy session last Friday, and I feel your podcast was the push I needed to go and speak with someone about everything and is something I have put off for way too long. You are truly going to help so many people as you did me in feeling we are not ok and it’s also ok to talk about it and not avoid it. Keep up the great work both personally and professionally with your podcast and doted. Truly blessed to have met you and I wish you nothing but love, light and all the good things. ♥️
