The One About Twin Birth & Pandemic Pregnancy With Ariana Joy Christie

The One About Twin Birth & Pandemic Pregnancy With Ariana Joy Christie

Today we welcome one of my best friends onto the podcast, Ariana! After discovering we were both pregnant and due within months of each other, we had plans, BIG plans, for how this would look and be for each of us. A pandemic... had other plans. For Ariana, this was her first birth, and a birth of twins, who came premature when she went into labour on her birthday. The rollercoaster of emotions, and the reality that was a twin birth, a month in NICU and so much more was something I wanted to sit down and talk with her about, unpack, and share in the moments of it all. I’m so happy she came on and opened up her story to us today.

Ariana is newly documenting her story as a twin mom on social media as well, on IG @Ariana_Joy_Christie

The One About A Survivor's Story: Turning Pain Into Purpose With Brittany Piper

Content warning: Sexual violence (rape), Assault, Drug/Alcohol Use, Eating Disorders & Suicidal Idealation

In 2009, at age 20, the unthinkable happened to Brittany Piper when she was attacked by a stranger who was helping her fix her tire. After her assailant was charged and sentenced, Brittany found herself in jail, and there began her work on healing through trauma and contributions towards ending sexual violence. Between how we talk to our kids, how musical lyrics and language around sex are lending themselves to sexual violence, and so much more… This conversation is eye opening, and necessary. Whether you are the 1 in 4 who will experience sexual violence and working towards healing, or the 3 in 4 who are here to be their supports, we learn about sympathy vs empathy and how to be an active ally. Brittany Piper is now an international activist, speaker and healing coach—cultivating 300+ programs spanning 10 years and 3 continents. Her work has been recognized by The U.S. Army, The Clinton Foundation, Cosmopolitan, Elite Daily + more. The One About Self Advocacy With Amin Jaswal

The One About Self Advocacy With Amin Jaswal

Amin Jaswal was in her 20’s when she began to realize something was off and was dismissed by doctors repeatedly. Until one day, in pain and frustration, she took herself to the ER, only to find out she had cancer. Cervical cancer to be exact. This cancer was not detectable by a pap smear and without her own self-advocacy, she may not be here. Passionate to share her story, normalize discussions around discharge, and discomforts, Amin joins us today to share what life looks like when you’re young, single, and have cancer. There is love, romance, and loss in life… and Amin took time to write down her emotions into poetry. Now, a book, A Light Within My Light (preorder April 12 2021). Amin inspires the survivor in all of us, to live life, create boundaries, and fight for yourself.

New Listener

What a great find! Have just started listening on my walks and definitely helping me thru this lockdown. I like how real and honest Sarah & her guests are. So relatable great guests and not afraid to have conversations that needed to be add especially with anxiety & teens. I hear the feedback on other reviews about the ads yes they could be a few less & shorter but it’s part of the podcasts to stay running the ads are good and like minded I have tried out a couple companies. Keep up the great work

Needs Improvement

I really love Sarah and everything she stands for but this podcast needs improvement. I feel like she talks way to much and you hardly hear from the guest. As a listener I want to hear their story and I feel like she’s the one talking 75% of the time.
