Key Information about Your CellAED®

Gaining a thorough understanding of how to manage and use your CellAED® is crucial for effective response in emergency situations. This detailed guide offers comprehensive information about your CellAED®, from storage to usage and deactivation.

Storing Your CellAED® Effectively

For optimal readiness, you should store your CellAED® in a place that is visible and easily accessible. Avoid storing it in areas exposed to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Keeping the device between 15 and 35 degrees Celsius is crucial, as temperatures outside this range can significantly shorten the battery life.

Preparing for Emergency Use

Your CellAED® should remain sealed in its protective packaging until needed for a sudden cardiac arrest event. When someone experiences sudden cardiac arrest, they will be unconscious, unresponsive, and either not breathing or not breathing normally.

Responding to Cardiac Arrest

If you suspect cardiac arrest, immediately call for emergency medical services, commence CPR, and retrieve your CellAED®. Before activating your CellAED®, ensure that you have exposed and prepared the patient’s chest.

Activating Your CellAED®

To activate your CellAED®, follow these steps:

* Remove the CellAED® from its packaging by pulling the tab and peeling off the tape seal.

* Tear open the protective bag as indicated and remove the CellAED®.

* Keep the CPR pictures inside the case visible for guidance.

* Activate and apply your CellAED® using the Snap, Peel, Stick method.

Using Your CellAED® on Infants

For infants, position the pad with the blue button on the front of the chest and the other pad between the shoulder blades. Follow the prompts to press the “Infant” button and confirm. During CPR on infants, remove the front gel pad and perform chest compressions with two fingers in the centre of the chest.

Completing the Therapy Cycle

Adhere to the audio instructions for heart rhythm analysis and possible shock delivery. Continue the therapy cycle with chest compressions and rescue breaths until emergency services arrive or it becomes unsafe to continue. Remember, if your CellAED® or another AED does not revive a patient, continue CPR as long as it’s safe until help arrives.

Deactivating Your CellAED®

After using your CellAED®, remove and stick the gel pads together for at least five seconds. This action deactivates your CellAED® and halts the voice instructions, marking the end of its use in the emergency.

Conclusion: Being Prepared with Your CellAED®

By following this information about your CellAED®, you ensure that you’re prepared for emergencies. Proper storage, prompt response during cardiac arrest, and correct deactivation are key to effective use of your CellAED®.
