For some of us, reconciling that there’s a good God that could have created a world filled with tragedy and trauma, feels nearly impossible. If you’ve ever had difficulties that caused you to question your faith, this episode will help you be honest with yourself while making room for exploration and authentic conversations with people you trust. Don’t miss out!

We’ve all lost relationships at some point in our lives. Whether we created the disconnection, they did, or we both played a role, those losses can be difficult and messy. Sadly, these losses can seemingly leave us worse off than if we never knew the person, but what if it doesn’t have to be that way?

They take a look at having gratitude for what was, how our grief matters, ways to have compassion for others, and surrendering what we think relationships need to be. Justin shares how you can make the most out of the love that existed in even the messiest relational endings. Abi discusses the ways some of us simply have incompatible triggers. Together they explore what relationships might look like through an eternal perspective.

275: Identifying and Overcoming Spiritual OCD

275: Identifying and Overcoming Spiritual OCD

For many of us, our beliefs around spirituality and faith can lead us to heightened levels of anxiety and mental torment, without even realizing it. Our thoughts on God can induce looping mental gymnastics that keep us feeling unlovable and fearful of impending doom. Obsessive-compulsive thoughts of needing to be perfect, in order to please God, can rob us of peace and a life filled with goodness. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
In this episode friend and fellow Life Consultant Rachel Hughes joins Abi and Justin to address spiritual OCD and paranoia that comes from having a broken view of God. They look at ways trauma and attachment play a role in our approach to faith, the impact of ideas about God that oppose goodness, and the role looming punishment plays in robbing us of peace. Lastly, they discuss how an understanding of a God that has unrelenting love grounds us in peace, while restoring a sense of connection that is vital to having a sound mind.
If you’ve ever battled with finding peace in your expression of faith, this episode might shine a light on some of the reasons that keep you from feeling settled and confident in your spiritual journey. Don’t miss out!

NicolasToma ,

Conected for real.

So, First I thought about copying the review I wrote on Facebook. But no, I prefer to describe it in a different way.

The podcast is a journey through the ups and downs of the relationship between the goofiest, funny, serious, loving, couple of Justin and Abi. When I started listening to the podcast, immediately I thought like: "What's the church of these pastors". But after listening to several chapters, I discovered that not only they're not pastors, but they're life mentors which is much better.

Justin is like the brother I never had. (And for real). Every comment, every story is like listening to your elder brother (In my case I'm the eldest in my family), about their life, their experience, etc. Is like learning from a guy who has passed from every moment that you never had, and above all, he can share them to you in a dynamical and fun way, but also in a heart reaching way, so you can make your own conclusions on what to do, or what no to do when it comes to build your dreams (in my case, a relationship which can bring me to my future family, and creating a life ministry with her).

On the other hand, Abi is the goofiest and extroverted side of the couple. She is like the counterpart of this relationship. She gives the joy, the touching base reality of the femenine side. (She actually thinks she was once a serious girl, but after listening to the podcast you realize that there is no way that is true.) Abi's words are really direct both to men and women because she opens her heart in a unique way, being vulnerable and allowing others to learn from that vulnerabilty. This gives the chance to learn on both in a fun and unique way, mixing faith, with reality in a totally different way.

The podcast is a journey that builds you up in ways you can't possible imagine. IT teaches you tips to build a relationship, how to mix this journey with your faith and the prophetic side. It makes you trust even further in God, knowing true stories that really happened on their lives.

Unfortunately, I don't have a way of knowing them personally and giving both of them the hug and friendship they really deserve, because this podcast is not only a life changer, but it's a life impacter, life transforming, and life connecting podcast.

Totally recomend it. Thank you guys for being who you are, and for being the husband and wife that God dreamed for "The Sumvoll's".
