World vs Word part 8

Reason 7 we can trust the Bible.

Prophetically proven
Approximately 2,500 prophecies appear in the pages of the Bible, about 2,000 of which already have been fulfilled to the letter—no errors.
Since the prophecies are, for the most part independent of one another, the odds for all these prophecies having been fulfilled by chance without error is less than one in 102000 (that is 1 with 2,000 zeros written after it)!
324 fulfilled prophecies about Jesus and 150 of them came to pass in about 6 minutes on the cross.

2 Peter 1:19-21 NLT

Prophecies and the probability

1. In approximately 700 BC, the prophet Micah named the tiny village of Bethlehem as the birthplace of Israel’s Messiah (Micah 5:2).

Micah 5:2 NLT
Probability of fulfillment = 1 in 10^5

2. In the fifth century BC, a prophet named Zechariah declared that the Messiah would be betrayed for the price of a slave—thirty pieces of silver, according to Jewish law-and also that this money would be used to buy a burial ground for Jerusalem’s poor foreigners.

Zechariah 11:12-13 NLT
Matthew 27:6-10 NLT
Probability of fulfillment = 1 in 10^11

3. Some 400 years before crucifixion was invented, both Israel’s King David and the prophet Zechariah described the Messiah’s death in words that perfectly depict that mode of execution.

Psalm 34:20 NIV
Zechariah 12:10 NIV
Probability of fulfillment = 1 in 10^13

4. The exact location and construction sequence of Jerusalem’s nine suburbs was predicted by Jeremiah about 2600 years ago.

Jeremiah 31:38-40 NIV
Probability of fulfillment = 1 in 10^18

5. Virgin birth 700 BC and genealogy of Jesus.

Isaiah 7:14 NIV
Probability of fulfillment =1 out of 1000 trillions.

Euphrates river prophecy

Revelation 16:12 NIV

Revelation 9:14-15 NIV

Red Heifers and the rebuilding of the third temple.

Why did the Jews stop their sacrifices?

In 2015, they completed an altar needed to restart sacrifices and performed a reenactment of the Passover sacrifice. In 2017, they performed a sacrifice near the Temple Mount, a controversial act that resulted in some being arrested.
In 2018, they were given permission to perform a reenactment of the Passover sacrifice at the foot of the Temple Mount.

Numbers 19:2-3 NIV

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 NLT
