¡Viva Selena! - Too much narration

Entertaining and insightful without being exploitive. A podcast that tells sort of gossipy stories of the rich and famous with respect and serious research.
It took me a minute to realize that on each cover the hosts are drawn in style of the main character of the podcast. It‘s a little confusing if people don‘t know the podcast.
The recent Season „¡Viva Selena!" about the Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla who rose to epic stardom and was murdered at the age of 24 by a close friend, overdoes it with the narration. Wondery is very good at citing resources and mark where an information is from and makes it transparent if details have been added for better storytelling. But in this season there is especially much narration that can’t possibly be known for instance a lot of inner dialogue by Selena and scenic details that have just been added. It takes away a bit of the journalistic merit. If there are stories about musicians it is a little sad that no music is played during the podcast. Maybe the format of two people telling the story is not the best format for these topics. It would have been great to hear some of Selenas songs.

I’m really enjoying the podcast, it’s easy listening and well told stories.

❤️ it

It’s awesome definitely recommend it! It’s really fun to listen to but the only thing that bothers me is they are always talking about the celebrity’s like they aren’t even real people although the whole point of the podcast is to show that even the rich are like us. But otherwise it’s awesome!
