Meet Josh, our next guest, who is a Non- Profit Executive. A big part of his recent work, involves renaming monuments that were named after historic figures. With recent events involving the Black Lives Matter movement and the Canadian government beginning reconciliation with Indigenous Canadians, there are many figures we now realize contributed to racism in Canada. Removing them from Canada’s present, is the first step in acknowledging its harmful past.

Allyson began her work in the publishing industry as an intern. In this episode we learn about the different areas of the publishing industry, from publishing schools, to editing, to sales, to marketing. Learn all about the ins and outs of the publishing industry and exactly how Allyson ended up there. 

Meet Doriena, the landscape architect. With a degree in landscape architecture from the University of Idaho and a landscape architectural technology diploma from NAIT, Ms. Hassett has more than a decade of professional experience in her industry. Doriena is a landscape architect at McElhanney and a full member of the Alberta Association of Landscape Architects (AALA). Her responsibilities include business development, proposal writing, design, quality control & project management. She served her term as past president on the board of directors in 2019 and is currently acting as registrar chair for the AALA.

Marisa Bruch is a Social Media Manager with over eight years of experience working in brand and digital marketing. Marisa specializes in advertising, writing and social media marketing and has been responsible for educating other employees, online brand launches and high-level recruitment campaigns. Her passion for writing can be found in The Huffington Post, where her works have been published 22 times. Marisa’s skills and knowledge of social media have led her to her current position at The School of Public Policy, University of Calgary, where the account audiences under her management have grown over 4,500%.

When she’s not hacking the social media matrix, Marisa can be found travelling, cooking or in her urban garden.

Bella sits down and speaks with Dr Robert Radovanovic. He seems to have spent his whole life ignoring 'the way things have always been done.'  As an engineer, innovator and educator, Robert is happiest when he's figuring out new connections between things, be it how to put together a gadget, or how to make a new business work. He's currently the Engineering Branch Manager in Calgary, AB for McElhanney Ltd., where he coordinates teams designing the infrastructure that makes our towns and cities work. He's also a founder of Solv3D Inc., a software firm specializing in Digitized Reality, which leverages 3D virtual worlds to better solve real problems.

Bella sits down and speaks with Alana. Alana is a multimedia designer based in Vancouver, BC. She received a BFA with distinction from the Alberta University of the Arts in 2012, and a Masters of Digital Media in 2014 from the Centre for Digital Media in Vancouver. She has worked in film, television, tech, and as an entrepreneur for 10 years. She has designed award-winning videos and interactive experiences for charities and universities across Canada.
