cool spin on a known concept
As so many other movie podcasts, this doesn’t just jerk off on how great certain movies are. It shines a light on hidden gems and isn’t afraid to give an unpopular opinion about commercially and critically acclaimed movies. In the Nolan episode it was nice to hear get Interstellar the love it deserves , especially when you think of the Movie Milestones like The Dark Knight and Inception that this man made.
But I have to disagree on Tenet. It’s not a bad movie. I agree that it can be overwhelming, especially on the first viewing. But on second and third viewing it gets better. Yes you have to suspend your disbelief even more than Inception, but there is no argument that Tenet is a great movie on a craftsmanship level and an entertaining movie on the casual viewer level.
The only way it falls short, is the fact that it was hailed as the movie equivalent to Jesus that saves movie theaters from the pandemic. Considering the circumstances it was released, the box office is actually quite impressive.
