Nearly 35 years ago, I spent a summer after 3rd grade with my Aunt Maria's family. One of her kids was a competitive swimmer, and on a trip for a swim meet we almost became a murder statistic. Over the years, part of me thought I dreamed this story, but recently I had the opportunity to sit with my aunt, and get the story straight, first hand.
We could have been whacked... I have told this story to many people, with a "Yeah, riiiiight!" kinda look. Well, here is the story, as told by my wonderful Aunt Maria!
