Here it is, my first podcast segment “Accepting and Committing to your true self”
In this segment we will be discussing what accepting your true self actually means. We will be drawing from principles of CBT, ACT and Conscious science. We will then be taking about how to commit to your true self; the difference between living goal oriented and value led living. There is a significant focus on increasing psychological flexibility to help understand and adapt thinking patterns, regulating emotions and choosing behaviors that help you to live rich, meaningful and purposeful lives.

    In this week’s podcast we continue to discuss how to commit to ones true self by increasing your psychological flexibility. This is a concept/model that underpins the theories of acceptance and commitment therapy. I will be definitely the 6 processes of this model and talk you through ideas that will help you to use these processes. These are, acceptance, decision, connecting to the present moment, self as context, values and committed action.

    Accepting and committing to your true self. What does acceptance actually mean?

    In this episode, I give a brief introduction to myself and the purpose of this podcast. The main body discusses what it takes to accept your true self - understanding your mind, being compassionate towards yourself and learning how to make choices in life that are in life with your values. I draw on principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment therapy. Towards the end of episode I ask you questions to reflect on based on the topics discussed.
