After a torrid year, stuck indoors with a ruptured Achilles and the dull, sedimentary lifestyle that this injury entails, I was at my wits end. I had watched TV. No, not just watched the telly, but WATCHED the TV. I had immersed myself into the world of the paranormal with the entire run of Uncanny and not only was I alone on a house unable to move, but I was now very, very afraid when I heard a noise upstairs. There was nothing left ahead of me but the bleak, cultural desert that was mid afternoon telly. What to do? Scanning through my podcasts I was surprised to see that I had once subscribed to this podcast many years ago. It reminded me of long car journeys to the north, helping us cope with the absolute nonsense that was the M1 when visiting friends and family in Milton Keynes. Me and the wife would bet on who would win dinner(s) winner(s) and laugh merrily at the absolute buffoon that is The Billericay Nitwit and nod sagely at Old Man Attewell. We would then sit in complete silence as we drank in the divine word(s) of our Great Leader DW. Afterwards we’d treat ourselves to a single jelly baby each. So, filled with the gas of nostalgia, I decided I’d what no other sane man would do. I started to listen to the podcast of a radio show from the very, very beginning. Yeah it’s quite good.
