    010 What is Peace?

    010 What is Peace?

The search for peace is at the heart of so much of what we do. Our actions, our words and relationships are all done in order to try to bring about peace and ease of emotional and situational being. It’s all very understandable and logical, because as a baby, we live completely in the present, with no concept of past and future, so peace is actually what we are. Once our mind develops and starts learning, planning, and understanding, it starts creating concepts and beliefs about our identity, and so our search for peace begins from that place of belief and conviction of separation.
But when we start exploring the search for peace for what it really is, it starts a transformation in everything, from our motivation to our relationships and desires. So in this episode, we’re going to start unpacking what peace is and how to look at the search for peace from a place of openness and inquiry.

    What is Covered:

-What peace is and why our mind is conditioned to search for it
-Why our search for peace seems to be unsuccessful
-How to get excited about not being peaceful
-How to build capacity for discomfort when we’re experiencing suffering
-The egoic challenge and confusion of constantly looking for peace
-How to let go of control and start cultivating an inquiring mind

009 How Do I Get Rid of the Shame?

009 How Do I Get Rid of the Shame?

Shame, which I also refer to as an existential wrongness, is a deep feeling of  being somehow responsible for everything that we feel is messed up within us. That ongoing sense of deep wrongness comes from the most fundamental confusion about the mind, about the body, and about our behaviour.
However, shame is both our greatest suffering and the point at which there can be the greatest sanity about what the mind is and what we really are. There are examples of people who’d hit rock bottom and were even on the brink of suicide, and then at the lowest point, something happens and there's a shift within the mind in which shame just cannot exist anymore.

In this episode, we’re going to explore why we feel shame, the confusion that creates shame in the first place, but also the accountability of our perceiving mind for everything that happens to us and how we can get rid of the shame.

    What is Covered:
-Why shame is the ultimate confusion, why it’s insane and illogical
-The toxic belief system that perpetuates shame and makes our life miserable
-How to see shame as a gift of an emotion
-Does it really make sense to get rid of the shame?
-Why we are so focused on ourselves when we feel shame
-What is source accountability or impersonal accountability?
-How to find the place where shame ends and clarity and openness begin

    008 Why Can't I Get What I Want?

    008 Why Can't I Get What I Want?

For all of us, in some area of our life, it might be that it feels just like a struggle, like we're pushing water uphill, and the more we try, the more the thing that we want moves away from us. Or otherwise, it might be that we want more money or more clients, but we don't even know where to begin. Maybe we want better health, we want to be stronger, fitter, more flexible, and yet there just isn't that motivation in us.

So what is going on when the thing that we want just isn't coming into our lives at all? This question is a way into having a profoundly different relationship with the mind and with the behaviour that unleashes the superpowered mind. Although it might seem a million miles away, the solution is actually already there, and it is so possible for all of us.
So how do we get there?
    What it Covered:
-The #1 confusion when it comes to not getting what we want
-How come that our self and the thing we want are made of the same thing
-The most common problem with getting what we want in relationships
-The conflicting wants inside of us that prevent us from getting what we want
-How to recognise the mismatch between our different desires and start getting them into alignment

007 Is My Personality My Fault?

007 Is My Personality My Fault?

This week, we are looking at the origin of personality and the 'me' that thinks it has a personality.

We can define personality as the tendencies, traits and preferences, the ways of being and behaving that are the result of both nature and nurture. They're our genetic inheritance and they are how those genes are activated as a result of the individual experience.

So our personality arises and develops over time, but can it fundamentally change? And is our personality really ‘our fault’? This is what we’re exploring in this episode.

    What is Covered:
-How our personality is formed into identity
-What the bases of introversion and extroversion are
-How introverts can become extroverts and vice versa
-Why personality tests are not to be taken as definite
-Why is ‘is my personality my fault?’ a wrong question to ask
-How and why our personality can shift profoundly

006 How to End Your Addiction

006 How to End Your Addiction

There is an interesting connection between addictions and the individual belief system. All behaviour, including addictions and compulsions, is the product of whatever subconscious conditioning is in operation. There is no separate decider. As this becomes more obvious, harmful, toxic and problematic behaviour that was carried out to secure the ‘separate me’ falls away.

The problem with addictions is that we normally operate from an unquestioned belief that inside every mind, there is an independent chooser that is making independent decisions. In this episode, we’re going to unpack that belief in relation to addictions, and start making a shift towards sanity and the end of unproductive behaviours and habits.

    What Is Covered:
-Understanding the vicious circle of control and shame around our addictions
-How the behaviour that we’re trying to change actually happens
-Why it’s pivotal to explore the absence of a central decider inside our mind
-How experience shifts from identified mind to an open, learning mind
-How a radically different approach to addiction can reveal the truth of what you are

    005 Fear and Insecurity

    005 Fear and Insecurity

Every day I speak to people who have intense fears. It can be in any area of life: fear of public speaking, of driving, fear for their health, fear of dying, of not having enough money, of being rejected, and all other areas of life.

What they're wanting, and what I wanted so desperately when I was in the midst of my public speaking phobia, was for the fear to just be taken away. But the absolute irony at the heart of fear is that the desperation for it to go away is exactly what's keeping it in place.

So what do we do to break this vicious circle? Let’s find out in this episode.

    What Is Covered:
-The dual core of many mental health problems including fear, anxiety and panic attacks
-Why the fear won’t go away from the body and mind and what to do about it
-How to understand fear as a gift and start questioning the constructs of the mind
-The connection between fear and the projections of our identified mind
-How to start shifting your mind away from control and towards curiosity and freedom
