It's 1721, and London is abuzz with news of notorious pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read, currently languishing in Newgate Prison. It’s the perfect time for debt-ridden journalist Nathaniel Mist to exploit the public appetite and ghost-write a sensational (and hopefully best-selling) history of pirates. But as the balladeers and gossips on the streets of London build myths around the blood-thirsty, perverse lady pirates, Mist is forced to reckon with the real Bonny & Read... Featuring musical sensation Christina Bianco, actress and comedian Sooz Kempner, Hamilton star Karl Queensborough, drag legend Le Gateau Chocolat, and more. BBC Audio Drama Awards 'Best Podcast' and British Podcast Awards 'Best Fiction' Nominee 2022.

What an absolutely amazing series. I’ve looked forward to every episode weekly. Thankyou to everyone involved in creating a wonderful series to listen to, enjoy and look forward to. Superb story, singing, acting, music, sound effects. Incredulous when you consider this has been achieved by the individuals recording remotely, then mixing together. Genius! LOVED IT!

A hugely enjoyable witty yarn with a brilliant cast and some lovely jokes thrown in. Plus never heard production values like it on a podcast. Love it.

Absolutely loved their last podcast, Mockery Manor. I didn’t think this one was for me though, not really into musicals. I was wrong. This is another amazing show, I binged all the available episodes back to back. Another brilliant hit from the guys. Can’t wait for more
Outstanding!

The epic pirate musical you didn’t know you were waiting for! Great writing, the story and dialogue are snappy and compelling, and the vocal performances both spoken and sung are individually and collectively excellent. I love all the background detail, and how even minor characters are distinctive and well-realised. The music too is extraordinary; shifting from big-budget Disney musical to Kurt Weill, via Sondheim-style recitative and a socialist sea shanty, and yet all these elements feel part of a coherent and original whole. The whole thing is put together with real care and rich production values. Brilliant stuff!
