Hellen has enjoyed a rich and varied career in salon management, culminating in her co-founding the largest and highest grossing independent salon in the UK. Not only is she regularly featured on TV and in the media commenting as the sector’s business guru, but she has been instrumental for the Hairdressing Industry having a voice at Government level.
An accomplished author, lecturer and educator for the sector Hellen’s passion for the hairdressing industry has seen her being an integral part of The Hairdressers Charity since 2005 as Past President, Trustee and Director and in her latest role as Vice President. Her regular must-read column for Professional Beauty Magazine has been taking the temperature of the beauty industry for over 10 years. Hellen is also the inaugural Beauty Ambassador for NHBF (National Hair & Beauty Federation) and past Chairman of both the Fellowship for British Hairdressing and Trailblazers, a government initiative to recommend the framework of Apprenticeships in the sector.
Hellen is actively involved in women entrepreneurs in her role as Vice President of BAWE (British Association of Women Entrepreneurs) and is the latest recipient of FCEM Monidal UK’s BAWE award for her voluntary work for the organisation, one of only 22 women ever to have received such an honour. Hellen has successfully published 3 textbooks on hair and beauty salon management for City & Guilds in her Ultimate Salon Management Series and is regularly featured as a guest speaker at a host of industry events.
